Run Ridge Run is a trail race in Anmore, BC. There are two distances offered by Coast Mountain Trail Series – 13k and 25k. Although there is no ultra distance available, this is a great preparation race for Diez Vistas which is held on more or less the same route in April. That event has both 50k and 100k options.
However, this is Run Ridge Run, a race I have completed before and thoroughly enjoyed. Both races offer challenging climbs, descents, and technical trail running that has become infamous in all the Gary Robbins designed CMTS races. The 13km course will skirt around Sasamat Lake on the Buntzen Ridge Trail with a glimpse of Buntzen Lake. The 25km course will continue on to attack the Diez Vistas Ridge before following Lakeview Trail and then almost touching Buntzen Lake before the final climb back up and over to the finish at Sasamat Lake.
I’ve signed up for the 25km version of the race and can’t wait to see how I do and where my current fitness is truly at. As of writing, the race is only three weeks away and I’m currently feeling great on all my training runs!
