I was actually supposed to do this recovery run yesterday, but since I wasn’t feeling too great and I’m trying to listen to my body more, I skipped it and decided to do it today instead, which is meant to be a cross-training day.

I felt a wee bit sluggish when I headed out on this one, but settled in quickly and didn’t push myself. I still came in with an average pace of just under 5 minutes per kilometer and felt really good at the end. My legs are a little tight, which is a concern ahead of a big running weekend, but I think I’ll be fine and will get a really good stretching session in on Monday.

I didn’t push on this run and actually thought I was holding back a bit, yet I spent a lot of the run at the top end of zone 2 and even moved into zone 3 for a while. This is not indicative of recent runs on this same route. So, I think that must mean I’m showing a little bit of fatigue in my body. I guess we’ll see how I’m feeling over the 55k I will be running this weekend!
